Career Summary:
John is a Chartered Accountant who qualified with Ernst and Young – Cape Town. John then joined Somta Saws (a Haggie Company), as Financial Manager. John was subsequently appointed a director when the company was bought by the Poole family and renamed First Cut (Pty) Ltd. John broadened his manufacturing and light engineering experience, as well as gaining significant entrepreneurial and commercial experience by joining Romberg (Pty) Ltd and as Financial Director.
John joined the TMP group in 2005, establishing the Cape Town office and providing operational support to various business initiatives within the group.
Out of Office:
John has the great and inexplicable good fortune to be married to Dr Beth Harley. John has two boys; a university blue for fencing; has completed 4 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathons; and is one of 15 riders to have completed all 7 ABSA Cape Epics.
John is also a member of the Mountain Club of SA; the Cape Town Photographic Society; and the School of Economic Sciences.
